Ian is a Chartered Engineer and a building services engineering industry Fellow having been the CEO of RED Engineering Design before joining Pure in 2021. He has been designing and advising in the data centre sector for over 20 years.
Ian was one of the founders of RED and led them to become one of the leading authorities in data centre design with several of his projects having been awarded for their sustainability and energy efficiency achievements. Under his leadership, RED delivered projects in over 70 countries across Europe, the Middle East, Africa and Asia. Ian also served on the global ExCom of ENGIE Impact head-quartered in New York. ENGIE Impact is the French energy actors’ sustainability and energy management business.
Ian serves on Pure’s exec team and leads Pure’s strategic data centre solutions, energy & utilities, carbon removal R&D and their sustainability direction.
